The NJABQ Round 7 Recap

Hey everyone!
Well I know it's been a long time since I posted my quiz, and I'm sorry that I forgot about this, but I've returned with my answers to your questions. Now I posted 10 partial questions, but only 9 people (my friends on Facebook) actually took the time to do the quiz. Thanks so much guys. (It also goes to show that MSN Spaces is out.) I promised to answer one question from each person who played, but since there were so few players this round I decided to answer all of the ones I liked and I'm sure you're all represented more than once. So without further Apu, here are my answers to your questions.
  1. How much is too much? When there is some left over.
  2. How much sex is too much? When there is none leftover.
  3. Do you believe in Big Foot? I believe in the Kokanee Sasquatch. I also think they should keep the Ranger too.
  4. Do you believe in "Magic....In a young girl's heart"? THAT is exactly what was going through my head when I wrote the (partial) question.
  5. Where were you in 1928? Bootlegging liquor during the prohibition.
  6. Where were you in 1986? BC then Alberta. Depending on the time of year I was either ending 3rd grade in BC or starting 4th grade in Alberta.
  7. Where were you in 1999? Partying Like It Was
  8. Where were you in 1982? BC. I was 5 that year, so I think I was in Kindergarten.
  9. Where were you in 1991? Edmonton. Grade 8 or 9.
  10. Where were you in 1994? BC. That was the year I met the girl who would later become my fiancée.
  11. Where were you in 1901? My memories from that era are kind of hazy.
  12. What's the worst beer you've ever had? Lucky Lager, and Bud.
  13. What's the worst job you've ever had? Although I made a lot of friends there, I’m going to have to say Convergys. I tried my best to get ahead in that place but kept getting fucked over.
  14. What's the worst food you've ever had? I had some bad KFC once that pretty much turned me off them forever.
  15. When are you going to die, if ever? I’m not afraid to die, but I’m not in a hurry to do so. I’d like to live a good long life first.
  16. When are you going to get married, if ever? If all goes well, later this year.
  17. Do you think it's possible to lick your elbow? Maybe if you’re double or triple jointed…
  18. Do you think it's possible to overdose on coffee? Nope. *twitches*
  19. Would you ever trade your life for someone else's life? I think everyone wants to at one point or another. I’ve wanted to be a rock star and a pirate. Since I can’t trade my life I’m just making the best of the one I have.
  20. Would you ever trade your computer for rice? I think rice, and food in general world wide, is over priced and that something should be done. (My political rant for the day.)
  21. Why do some people lie? Perhaps they find it more comfortable.
  22. Finish this sentence: When I hear music I just want to: turn it up if it’s something I like or down if it’s something I don’t like.
  23. Finish this sentence: When I hear screaming children I just want to: yell out “There are no bad children, only bad parents!” (By the way, to my friends who are parents I don’t mean you. Your kids are great which makes you great.)
  24. Who would you make disappear if you had the chance? I’ve known a few people…
  25. Who would you put up against the wall and have your way with if you had the chance? Other than my fiancée?

This was fun. Will I do it again....? We'll see....

Not Just Another Blog Quiz Round 7

Hey Everyone,
After a very long hiatus I have returned to my Inland Shipwreck page to post another edition of my popular quiz that I call Not Just Another Blog Quiz. For those who haven't seen this, let me explain. I'm sure you've all seen and done those long ass quizzes that ask you a million stupid and repetative questions (some similar to the previous long ass quiz that circulated the week before). Well I don't do that here. What I'm going to do instead is ask you folks 10 partial questions. All you have to do is fill in the blank and then answer your question. These questions are very random and open ended, so whatever you fill the blanks with is completely up to you but you must answer your question. Once I figure I've got enough responses I will then post a recap blog in which I will answer some of your questions - at least one from everyone who plays.

Sound like fun? Well let's get to it. It's getting harder to come up with new partial questions, but here they are:
  1. How much _________ is too much?
  2. Do you believe in _______?
  3. Where were you in 19__?
  4. What's the worst _______ you've ever had?
  5. When are you going to _______, if ever?
  6. Do you think it's possible to _______?
  7. Would you ever trade your _______ for _______?
  8. Why do some people _______?
  9. Finish this sentence: "When I hear _______ I just want to _______."
  10. Who would you _______ if you had the chance?

And there you have it folks. Answers can be posted here or on my Facebook page if I have you as a friend.

Have Fun!

I've decided...

...that I am no longer going to be posting personal blogs on this page (Inland Shipwreck) anymore. I'm still going to keep it open because I created the name Inland Shipwreck and I don't want anyone to take it, but I'll no longer be using it as a personal journal anymore. It's easier for me to do that on Facebook because my friends and family are really the only ones who I want to know what's going on in my life. There are just too many oddball stalkers out there.

Now, again, this doesn't mean this is the end of Inland Shipwreck. I've been running this page for nearly 3 years now and even though traffic has slowed to almost a standstill, I'm still going to post funny jokes, pictures, ship related stuff (of course), and my popular Not Just Another Blog Quiz. Speaking of that quiz, I should be posting another edition very soon, by request, so stay tuned for that.

That's all I have for now, my friends.

Merlin's Adventure The Week Before Christmas

I originally wrote this in 2005 under the title "Bad Kitty", but I know many of you likely haven't seen it so I'm posting it again for your enjoyment. Happy Holidays!

Gift with a bow

'Twas a week before Christmas and all through our flat, the only creature  'twas stirring was our little cat.

We awoke late last night to the sound of a clatter, followed quite promptly by an ominous shatter...

Three o'clock in the morning and without any warning, our cat had decided to do some exploring.

From the top of our book case, about 5 feet tall, he knocked over this jar which bounced off the wall.

A collection of rocks, found on various beaches, mixed in with the glass now in razor sharp pieces.

Our kitty should get such a swat on the ass, but he ran off and hid as we cleaned up the glass.

So we found a container to hold all my rocks, then back into bed until, oh, 5 o'clock.

*sigh*

Seattle!

Hey Everyone!

Well, after more than 30 years of being alive, I have finally traveled outside of my home country of Canada this past weekend when I visited the beautiful city of Seattle, WA, USA with my fiancee Megan. I have to say I really enjoyed myself and I found that the people who live there are really quite nice, even after I told them we were Canadian. I think they just liked the fact that we were pumping money into their economy. I just wish that we had a little more time to see and do a few more things, but it's not like I'm never going back there again. I definitely plan on visiting again.

I'd like to give you guys a little recap on the events over the past weekend. The first night was simply traveling by ferry to Seattle from Victoria. We departed Victoria around 4:30 in the afternoon and arrived in Seattle roughly 3 hours later and made our way to our hotel by taxi. Unfortunately it was dark outside for most of the trip, so I wasn't able to see Puget Sound at all. I didn't get to see it on the way back either, but I'll tell you more about that in a minute. The hotel was adequate for Megan and me and it was clean, very important. After checking in, we had dinner in the restaurant downstairs where I got to see first hand how much bigger the portions are in the US. Megan ordered a starter size chicken strips with fries and she couldn't finish it! After paying the bill, we made our way back to our room and turned in for the night very tired from traveling.

The second day we woke up around 8:00 or so and had ourselves a very filling breakfast then headed out to see the sights. First stop: the Space Needle. Incredible views, people! That's really all I can say. We must have spent at least half an hour staring out at all the different vistas. Afterwards, we picked up a couple of souvenirs from the gift shop and dropped them off at the hotel before heading out again to do what Megan really wanted to do: go shopping! I'd have to say we did pretty well that afternoon. I even picked up a couple of things such as shirts, flannel pants for bumming around the house in, and a nice wool jacket. Megan got herself all kinds of nice new clothes too including a couple of things from Victoria's Secret. *rawr!*

After all the shopping we were pretty hungry, so we ordered room service and relaxed for the rest of the evening watching TV. We had to be up really early the next morning because our ferry was supposed to leave for Victoria at about 8:00AM. Unfortunately a nasty storm blew in overnight and we discovered that the ferry had been canceled! When we arrived at the pier there was a line of busses waiting to take all of us passengers up to Vancouver to catch a ferry from there. After 3 hours of driving, not to mention an annoying 45 minute wait at Customs, we arrived at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal only to learn that those ferries had been canceled as well! That meant we played the waiting game again for another 3 hours or so until they finally decided to set sail around 3:00 PM. We would have been home before noon had we been able to catch the ferry from Seattle. As a result of all the delays, we didn't end up getting home until after 6:00PM. We had been up since around 5:30 that morning.

Needless to say, we were pretty tired. Making matters worse, Megan was battling a pretty bad cold for the entire trip. Other than the voyage home, and Megan's cold, we still had a lot of fun. We got to experience new things, dine on different cuisines, and shop at different stores. Both of us really enjoyed ourselves and as I said at the beginning, we will definitely visit again. My friends who know me on Facebook can see more photos there, but I've added a few here for you folks who may be reading this on my Inland Shipwreck page.
